WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
Click below to find out....
Many people have heard or read things about hypnosis which give a false impression of what hypnosis really is. Most of this misinformation comes from TV or movies or books written about misuses of hypnosis. We need to remember that these are produced to entertain and are not trying to inform people about the truth of hypnosis. They show hypnosis being used in ways that it cannot be used, and generally they distort the truth.
Going into a state of hypnosis is a perfectly normal activity. It appears in a different way to many people, but most people describe it as a restful, peaceful, state where they are still aware and in control, but very, very relaxed. The person who is hypnotized is aware of everything the hypnotist says at all times and while they are under hypnosis, they will never forget anything, unless they agree to forget what has transpired.
Persons under hypnosis will always awaken from hypnosis easily. No one can remain in hypnosis for more than several minutes unless he wants to do so. He also will remain in control of himself at all times.
No person can be hypnotized without their consent, cooperation, and willingness. But the more a person allows himself to cooperate and relax, the more benefits he will receive from hypnosis. No one can be made to do or say anything that they are morally or ethically opposed to during hypnosis. You cannot be made to do anything that you would not ordinarily do while in hypnosis. Your morals are actually stronger while in hypnosis.
Some of the cases of hypnosis have shown what seem to be miracles. Hypnosis is not a miraculous power, it is merely a technique that enables your mind to access and use your own natural healing and physical abilities, to assist in healing or physical accomplishment.
Hypnosis allows your subconscious mind (inner mind) to accept positive suggestions that can increase self confidence, self acceptance, self love and self esteem, to create success patterns for life, learning, and health. Hypnotic suggestions can release unwanted patterns and strengthen or enhance any part of your personality or ability that you desire.
Some misinformed authors and scientists have claimed that hypnosis is dangerous, that it weakens the will or that it causes other symptoms to arise in place of those released by hypnotic suggestion. The opposite is true. There has never been a case in the history of hypnosis where hypnosis has caused other symptoms. Also instead of weakening the will, hypnosis actually strengthens the will and improves the powers of the mind.
